Dusk's Werecard

Were Name: Dusk
Phenotype: Cheetah or Lion, I haven't quite puzzled that out yet, until I do...feline. :)

Birthdate: August 26, 1972
Birthplace: Northern New Jersey
Home Territory: Southern New Jersey
Dream Territory: Ireland, the first home of my heart, or in the Pine barrens here in New Jersey, or a place that I often see in my imaginings..with rolling hills, lots of rocks and trees, open plains with the mountainsclose by.....*purrr*

Physical Description, Human: I'm about 5'6", reddish brown hair, freckles, hazel eyes that change color when they feel like it pale, glasses. I tend to look a lot shorter when I stand 'cos I slouch a lot.
Physical Description, Were: Essentially a very normal looking member either species, whichever it is i happen to be; although if i picture myself as a cheetah, the image of the King Cheetah phase comes to mind. Also, the front paws would be changed slightly, to allow some manual dexterity. I couldn't stand to live without thumbs of some kind ;).
Human Career: Eternal job hunter

Hobbies/Interests: Drawing, reading, sitting for hours in front of the computer ;), riding my bike to pieces, hiking, sitting in trees, Sci-Fi, fantasy, Anime, irritating customers, etc
Favorite Movie: Lots. If I had to pick 6 I'd say: Blade Runner, Ladyhawke, Princess Bride, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Dragonheart, and Lion King. Favorite Were Movie: American Werewolf in London, although the first Howling was pretty nifty.
Favorite Literature: Sci-fi, Fantasy, the odd period piece (works of Jane Austen for example), Horror, Comic books
Favorite Were Literature: Haven't come across much, though I remember reading 'The Wolven', i think it was, and liking it. Also, Stephen King's 'Cycle of the Werewolf' was pretty fun.I love Furry-type literature, which I guess counts too.
Favorite Art: Disney, and Impressionism, cos it looks like the world without my glasses on.
Favorite Were Art: Most furry art that I like can be classified here, i think, though a fav of mine is Eric Elliot's stuff.
Favorite Saying/Quote(s): 1.Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun. 2.This job would be great if it weren't for all the F***ing customers.
Favorite Were Saying/Quote: What do you mean I need a pet license for myself?
Favorite Personal Quote: Feh.
Favorite Song/Band(s): Again, very many. Top fav's include:Pink Floyd, They Might Be Giants, most of Weird Al's parodies, and Celtic music
Favorite Were Song/Band(s): Haven't really found any, though I remember a lot of folks speakng of Moonspell's Wolfheart album. Can't find it, much as i've looked. There's a lot of music that makes me feel all wild and changed inside, which ranges from Celtic to Techno-Industrial types. Drums and bagpipes, though, have a profound effect on me.
Favorite Season: Spring or Fall. Winter's too cold and Summer's too hot.
Favorite Holiday: Samhain

Preferred Prey: Peppermint Patties ;). I eat just about anything except liver. ugh.
Hunting Tips: Know the terrain, and stay downwind.
Preferred Method of Attack: Strolling by, acting uninterested, then turning and pouncing.
Favorite Non-Were Mythological Beastie(s): Dragons!
Feelings Toward Vampires: Met one or two, fairly nice folks, least those I met seemed to be.
Feelings Toward Normal Humans:There's both good and bad ones. Can't blame them all for the mistakes of the idiots.

Personal Lycanthropy:

Basically, it's this. Like many others,(i'm guessing) as a child I felt..different. People never held the fascination for me that animals did, and still do today. Felines, especially, were my favourites. I'd spend hours watching my cats, imitating them, trying to do what they did. Growing up didn't change me, I was still a loner, hanging out on the fringes, mostly content do go my own way and let the others go theirs, although always bothered with some nagging at the back of my mind that there was something..missing. Of course, though, children are very talented at finding those among them who differ, and then striking out at them. Childhood was not fun, and I guess now I regret having to mature so quickly; but what's past is past. Anyhoo, when I finally came across a story about a werewolf, i think it was, something clicked within that child's mind of mine. This was familiar, somehow.

It didn't finally click, really, until very recently, within the last 2-3 years ago. One mist-filled night i was meandering about my college's campus, a fav. hobby of mine, when it suddenly all made sense, at least at the time. It dawned upon me that I was a were, had always been one. That was that something missing earlier in life, my identity. Thinking to myself, "ok but what exactly am I", i thought it over. To my mind came..Cheetah. Overjoyed, I ran about the campus like a loon, finally knowing what I was. Until even more recently, when I've had doubts, and a conflicting feeling between lion and cheetah. As noted before, I am still trying to puzzle out exactly which is which; whether one is a Totem; or possibly a double-were; or even some combination of the two felines. At any rate, such is my story, rambling and choppy as it is.

Dusk, ramblin' on
