Shiyah's WerecardFrom: SolarShadow@aol.com Human Name: Emma Reilly Were Name: Shiyah Phenotype: Cheetah Shifting Ability: Mental/Dream Birthdate: 05/28/87 Birthplace: NYC, Downtown Manhatten Home Territory: Yorktown, VA Dream Territory: Unnamed beach, deep and untouched by humanity. Physical Description, Human: I've got chin length blondegold hair, slightly wavy. I'm extremely tall, 5'7 1/2 and 113 pounds. I'm fairly strong, with large hands and feet, long limbs, and a slender figure. I'm too skinny to be very pretty, though. My eyes are combined of many different colors, and lean towards each of those colors depending on my mood, the lighting, or whatever. First around the pupil is a ring of amber, fading into a graybluegreen color, rimmed by a dark green. Often I'm likely to be seen in baggy jeans, a baggy tshirt, and worn sneakers. I look older than I really am and have been mistaken for an eighteen year old several times. Its probably my height. ^_~ Physical Description, Were: Alright, where does one see one's wereself? One *is* one's wereself. An adolscelent king cheetah with my eye color is what I get an impression of, though. Hobbies/Interests: I love art with a passion and hope to be an artist some day. I take martial arts as well, and I love it. It seems to help the animal within find an outlet. Favorite Movies: None, really. I liked the Matrix, though, that was definately a good movie. Favorite Were-movie: Hm... I haven't seen that many. Favorite Literature: Hell, if you want the entire list, just come to my library/room thingy. Favorite Were Literature: Blood & Chocolate is very, very well written. Favorite Art: I could go on for hours. Favorite Were-art: See above. Favorite Quote: "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may/ Old times is still a-flyin'/ And this same flower that smiles today/ Tomorrow will be dyin'." Favorite Were Saying/Quote: "Fear not the shadows; they, too, come from the light." Favorite Personal Quote: "..Believe..." Favorite Song/Band(s): Nada. Favorite Season: Summer Favorite Holidays: Christmas, Midsummers Eve, Fourth of July Preferred Prey: I couldn't see what it was... Hunting Tips: Strike with the claws first, at the creature's legs, to topple it; then grip the windpipe and sqeeze away it's life. Preferred Method of Attack: See above. Favorite Non-Were Mythological Beast: Unicorn Feelings Toward Vampires: My best friend is one, does that count? Feelings Toward Normal Humans: Some humans are ok. Most of them have, at one point in their lives, had the ability to believe, to comprehend. Many have lost it. Personal Therianthropy: Since I was very, very young I loved animals. First it was dinosaurs, then it was horses, then unicorns. The city was nice, but I yearned for solitude. S i l e n c e. My mother and I soon moved to Virginia. I loved it. I loved the cat, the open space. I grew up there, still yearning for something else. I hated the humidity. Every year I had gone to a beachhouse, on a private beach in delaware. On a near full moon, I went one night, with a few of the adults around. Still being around ten, I was enraptured by the sight of the beautiful silver reflection on the rough waves. After that its all blurry. I ran, I howled and screamed and laughed and cried. When we had to leave, I was soaked, covered in mud, sand, grass. Everyone later described me as so bright I was almost insane looking. That was my first truly remarkable m-shift. Later, I had more, before and a month after a satisfyingly wild one, I met someone on the internet who asked me a question. A question that I'll never forget. "Are you an Otherkin?" And when I learned about it, I screamed my joy. Literally. There were others, people who could understand, who knew exactly what it felt like to be wild and free and raw. Starstuff, someone called it, once. I was really into it for a while, but when my computer shut down, it just sort of drifted away, like a dream too beautiful to grasp. Even when I got the computer back, I'd nearly forgotten. But when I did, I realized that it fit me far more now than it had when I was psyched about it. Go figure. It took me a while to descover my animal. I realized, finally. Cheetah. Phantom shifting happens to me almost every minute. A long, thick, powerful tail. Furry ears. dog-like paws built for running. I have a very healthy lungs and heart. But many times, when I breathe, my lungs and heart feel far too small. Not enough to break thirty, much less seventy. I want to fly over the ground. I cant, physicly, not yet. Strangely enough, I have wings. Huge, feathered, flexible wings. I can see them, move them, almost but not quite touch them. No one else can. Cheetahs dont have wings. So why do I? I don't know. I am. Trust me. Just b e l i e v e....
